Valentine’s Day is upon us again. Like it or not, it affects us. The messages of romantic love come at us and our children. Can we capture them for good?
Hi, my name is Chap Bettis, and I’m the author of The Disciple-Making Parent. I feel like Valentine’s Day sneaks up on me like a tsunami. And I can fight it, or I can use it for family discipleship. That’s what we’re going to be talking about today.
There are a number of different ways that we can do that. In today’s podcast we’re going to go back to a format that I’ve used before. I’m going to read through several different blog posts that I’ve written in the past. I know that people consume content in different formats, so you may not be familiar with these posts, or you may have forgotten about them. The posts we’ll look at will be:
- Christian Dads and Valentine’s Day
- What Narrative Are We Telling Our Children?
- Eight Thoughts on Protecting the Purity of Our Daughter
- Advice for Guys Who Want to Date My Daughters
Let’s start thinking about how we can capture Valentine’s Day.
