Great little article here in which the author challenges moms not to gossip about their children’s misbehavior.
I can make the comparison to (just a few) pastor’s breakfasts that turned into complaining sessions about members. I always felt uncomfortable. A pastor should not complain to other pastors about his sheep. And neither should a family shepherd complain to others about their child’s misbehavior (in their hearing or not):
Why? This casual complaining is gossip and…
1. Is unkind to them.
2. Leaves the impression that we are the ones wronged.
3. Communicates that sin is not serious.
4. Communicates that sin is hopeless.
This applies whether our children are toddlers or teens. Read the whole thing.
